UK: Annual PPI – Output rises 2.3% in February

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - In the year to February 2013 UK PPI – Output n.s.a. grew 2.3% , in comparison with an increase of 2.1% the previous month, National Statistics reported today. Analysts expected less growth of 1.8%.

On a monthly basis UK PPI – Output n.s.a. ticked up 0.8% in February, following a 0.2% increase in January and above market consensus of +0.3%.

Annual UK PPI – Input n.s.a. rose 2.5% in February, compared with January's 1.9% rise and above expectations of +0.9%. Between January and February UK PPI – Input jumped 3.2%, after growing 1.3% between December and January and above projections of rising 1.9%.

Year-over-year PPI Core Output rose 1.3%, following 1.4% growth and above consensus of +1.1%. On a monthly basis PPI core Output remained at 0.3% almost in line with expectations of 0.2% growth.
